The Problem

When Monthly Recurring
Becomes Monthly Uncertain

Most instability isn't random.
It's the result of conditions that were never engineered to produce anything else.

What we see

Weak lead quality means sales chases tire kickers.
Messy or broken handoffs destabilize close rates.
Poor customer experience leads to higher cancellations.
Inconsistent sales performance month to month.
High customer turnover without clear reasons.
Team frustration and burnout.

All lead to stressful, unstable RMR numbers.

Less improvisation. More control.

Why it happens

While loose systems are often the root cause, other culprits include broken handoffs, unclear sales processes, poor tracking, and communication gaps. These issues cascade across your business, creating interconnected challenges that compound over time.

How we fix it

We provide proven solutions and hands-on guidance to identify and fix the interconnected issues quickly. Our engineering approach addresses root causes systematically — ensuring lasting improvements rather than temporary patches.

Who We Are

Operators. Strategists.
Built from lived experience.

Lisa H. Carter and Vera Shury

Lisa H. Carter and Vera Shury — three decades operating family alarm companies.

Long before RMR Engineering had a label, Vera Shury and Lisa Carter were already doing the work.

Through two family alarm companies, they lived the problems that most security integrators face: unstable lead flow, unpredictable close rates, and the constant stress of month-to-month RMR volatility.

They didn't just study these problems. They engineered solutions. Tested them. Refined them. And brought stability to their own operations before offering it to others.

Vera served 27 years as president of their family's regional alarm company. After her divorce from Lisa's father, she co-founded a franchise alarm company with Lisa as co-pilot — which became the fastest-growing franchise in its network in its first year. That business model sold low-cost wireless systems at cost plus a small margin to capture the monthly recurring revenue from monitoring contracts, while most competitors were still focused on installation sales of hard-wired systems.

Lisa's background as an auditor at PwC gave her unique insight into what makes emerging enterprises thrive or stall — regardless of what the numbers say. She later co-founded and ran one of the first online accounting and bookkeeping firms as banks were rolling out digital finances, a disruptive approach that parallels their early move into wireless alarm systems. This depth of experience, built across multiple industries, is unique.

RMR Engineering leverages their marketing expertise to provide full-service RMR Engineering — combining operational insights with marketing strategy to inform both in a way that other marketing agencies don't. This integrated approach ensures that marketing efforts are grounded in the operational realities of the business.

RMR Engineering is a focused offer built from that lived experience — and one clear principle: before spending more or chasing another fix, get a clearer read on what the numbers are actually saying.
